This entailed a fabric cover, meant to cover the head from the sun. It had become preferred by Europeans and Us residents within warm parts of the country.

Unsavory types of pith helmets have been around since the midst of the 1800s, as early as the 1840s. Approximately 1870 the pith helmet grew to become well-liked by several European military’s within Europe’s exotic colonies. In those days, the helmet had been made from pith together with little peaks in front as well as back; it had been covered simply by light material, coupled with tiny openings meant for air flow. The face strap may be in leather or brass chain, dependent upon functions. The pith helmet quickly grew to become associated with the British Empire as well as “Soldiers of the Queen”. Nonetheless, the pith helmet was utilized by almost all Western forces, as well as for some time also by America.

Throughout the Anglo-Zulu Warfare, Uk soldiers colored their light pith head wear with tea meant for camouflage. Quickly khaki pith helmets grew to become ordinary issues too. European armed service personnel used pith helmets with standard prior to the conclusion of The second world war, including a variation utilized by the Africa Corps.

The pith helmet grew to be so well-liked it evolved into standard civilian headgear just for Westerners within the tropics in the conclusion of the 1800s. The civilian pith head wear had been generally less attractive but more functional, and not as upright as the military comparable version, with an extensive brim all around. Guys, ladies and small children donned it in formalized as well as informal events right up until ww2.

Following the world war, the Viet Minh of Vietnam replicated the pith helmet via the previous French colonizer, and used it as being its very own. These days it can be still extensively used by either ordinary people as well as the armed forces in Vietnam; this is comparable to the prior Second world war civilian pith safety helmets, although coated in army green material, occasionally using a metallic insignia at the front side or backside.

Out of Vietnam the pith helmet has become used largely by the Uk as well as Thai military services. The pith helmet has additionally experienced use as a type of id by the United States Marine Corps rifle range trainers at Parris Isle as well as San Diego, just like the Campaign hat used by drill instructors.

I started wearing Boonie hats when I was 13 years old, I don’t remember what started my fascination with them but I assume it was what I was watching on TV at the time. The color tan has become symbolic to what I look at as the ultimate Boonie hat. So that’s why you will see me year after year with what will seem like the same one, at least that’s what my wife says. However, I know the difference in my giant collection of hats and I guess that’s all that really matters right? The Bush Safari outback hat is the newest addition to my safari hat collection.

This hat is tan or the technical term is khaki. It’s only 35% cotton which is a good thing for people who avoid that fabric. The brim is about 3 1/4 inches which has great protection from sun rays. It has vents on the side of the hat so you don’t get overheated and it also has a cool little feature in the snaps which will raise the brim on the side of the hat. I thought this was cool.

Price – This hat falls right in line with a decent price range at 24.99. Because it is so durable and you’ll know what I’m talking about if you own one then you shouldn’t have to replace it in the near future, if ever.

What I like – Again, call me old-fashioned or as I said earlier that person who seems to be wearing the same Boonie hat year after year, but I like the classic look of this outback hat. It’s nothing fancy but it provides the look that I shoot for. It’s the classic Boonie hat that I grew up wearing in that I still continue this day to wear.

What Don’t I like? Nothing, when it comes to this hat what you see is what you get. It came exactly as I saw online.

Would I buy this product again? Not only would I buy this product again but I’m sure I will. If I don’t buy the exact same hat you can bet that I will buy the same style or at least one that looks very similar. This style will never be outdated in my opinion.

Here in Seattle, we have some of the most beautiful summers that I have ever seen. Sure, it rains nearly all year long but that rain is the reason we Seattle-ite’s are so proud of our green trees even though it may be 90° out. Last summer however, we had a heat wave that sent temperatures into the hundreds for the first time that I can remember. Unfortunately, my wife and I were caught in that heat wave while hiking some of our favorite mountains along the pass. That’s what initially led me to buy the Henschel Breezer hat.

Specs -The hat’s top and brim are both made of cotton, but has a mesh crown for air flow. It has a 3 inch wide parameter for those days that I spoke about earlier in the post. Like some other Henschel Hats, this hat is crushable and also has a neat leather chin cord.

Price – The price of this hat in my opinion is more than fair at $19.97. I have spent a lot more money on safari hats which I was not half as happy with and that has provided me with the durability that this Henschel hat has.

What I Like – My favorite thing about this hat is the CoolMax band or let’s just call it the meshy part in the crown. It really keeps the head cool, which is the main reason I bought it in the first place. Not only that but I think it’s one of the more stylish safari hats you will find for this type of price.

What would I change about the hat? I can’t say that I would change much about the hat. I like the design, the comfort, and the price. As I have only worn the hat six or seven times I can’t give an honest opinion on the durability. Although, even if it only lasts me a short time, again it will be well worth the price.

Would I buy this product again? I would not bat an eye at buying this hat again. I trust Henschel hats and this particular hat has so far lived up to the name.
